Commercial Windows Features
Frame: Series 6600 commercial windows shall be constructed from specially designed extruded sections of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy split with a regid pvc thermal – break, machine rolled to maintain uniform strength in accordance with Columbia Highrise Windows INC. Engineering standards and drawings. Head, Jamb and sill members are to be machined and joined together and each corner with large diameter screws fastened into integral extruded strengthening ribs in the head and sill sections. Butyl sealing tape and sealant is to be applied in each corner as protection against water penetration at the machined joints. The sill section is to be specially designed hollow chamber with concealed drainage and weephole covers.
Weather Stripping: Double insulated dense polypropylene pile weather stripping of head, jamb, sill and interlocking rails of the sashes.
Hardware: Interior rolling panel shall be equipped with a positive locking device installed at the sash engaging into an extruded cavity in the rail of the exterior panel. The rolling panel shall be equipped with heavy duty friction free nylon rollers assembled in a self-contained housing and mounted to the bottom of the sash members.
Sash: All members are machined to interlock at corner and held together by screws fastened into integral extruded strengthening ribs in interlock and meeting rail sections. Members to be tabular or semi-tabular as required and shown on Columbia Highrise Windows INC manufactured engineering standard drawings.
Glazing: All Glass supplied with complete perimeter wrap around glazing vinyl. Sash member will accommodate glass thickness’ up to 6MM Standard colour us clear. ( Speciality glass is available as options.)
Finish: Aluminum sections are pre-treated and painted with an electrostatic baked-on duracron paint finish. Standard colors are brown and white. Special color finishes are available upon request only.
Screen: Frames are extruded aluminum fitted with 18x 14 fiberglass mesh as standard. Flexible vinyl spline holds screen mesh in position. Screen perimeter frame fits into specialty engineered groove in main window frame.
Trim: Extruded nailing fin, available. Fin held to frame member in extruded keyways.
Erection: All units to be installed in prepared opening in accordance with Colombia Highrise Windows and Railings Inc. Manufactures recommendations and instruction drawings. Frames must be securely fastened, set plumb and level without twisting, bowing or springing. To facilitate replacement of glass all panels may be removed for re-glazing.
Performance: Highrise Windows and Railings Inc. manufacturers series 6600 windows meet or exceed CAN/CSA-A440-M90 performance level for residential windows.
