MW Jefferson 200 Series Wood Windows Showcase Traditional Beauty, Warmth of Wood
The JeffersonР’В® 200 Series of wood windows - part of the popular Jefferson Series of wood windows and patio doors from MW Windows & Doors, Rocky Mount, offers builders and remodelers traditional design, natural wood, easy installation and enhanced performance characteristics not typically found in wood windows. "We continue to see the popularity of the Jefferson 200 series soar, demonstrating the need for an enhanced traditional wood window in the marketplace," says Mark Montgomery, senior vice president, sales and marketing.

"For over 60 years, MW has consistently developed quality, hand-crafted wood windows and doors," says Montgomery. "The Jefferson 200 series is no exception - it is designed to be historically accurate and comes standard with a weather-resistant exterior not normally found on traditional wood windows."
Jefferson 200 series double hung windows showcase the traditional beauty of the Jefferson Series while offering a stainable clear wood interior. Standard features include a low-maintenance synthetic brick mould, blind stop and sill that provide maximum weatherability; energy-efficient Warm Edge Insulated Glass; full-length fiberglass screen with rigid aluminum frame; compression balance system for simple tilt-in cleaning of exterior glass; and a top and bottom sash primed and ready to accept acrylic latex paint. Unlike vinyl and clad wood products, the exterior of the window can be painted to match any color preferences.
"To ensure a long-lasting window, cellular PVC components are used on the exterior of the window to prevent rotting - a low-maintenance solution to a common problem associated with traditional wood windows," explains Montgomery.
The Jefferson 200 series features a variety of exterior casings which create a dramatic architectural statement including standard 180 brick mould, 3-1/4-inch Williamsburg, 3-1/2-inch Flat and 4-1/2-inch Back-Band. The exterior casing is factory applied to the window, requiring no on-site carpentry - providing the architect, builder, or homeowner with a window that blends seamlessly with existing millwork.
The Jefferson 200 series has simulated divided lite (SDL) options designed to maintain the traditional, sought-after look of true divided lite (TDL), but with many key benefits. "This traditional TDL look is highly desired by historical renovation architects. Additionally, a key benefit of the Jefferson 200 windows is that with the SDL option we are able to significantly improve structural and thermal performance."
Because SDL facilitates a more cost-effective manufacturing process, this makes the end product more affordable and creates a wider variety of popular grille patterns. State-of-the-art glazing technology allows the Jefferson 200 series to be configured to meet National Fenestration Rating Council and ENERGY STAR requirements.
