Hurd Windows & Doors now offers ClimaGuard SPF on almost all of its wood windows and patio doors. ClimaGuard SPF is a new glass coating technology proven to block 99.9 percent of UV-A and UV-B rays. It is the best UV blocking coating available without sacrificing daylight or visibly changing the appearance of the window glass. With it, Hurd wood windows and patio doors provide nearly perfect protection of the home environment.

Hurd windows and doors with ClimaGuard SPF blocks roughly 35 percent more UV rays than any other coating currently on the market. With a Fade Protection Factor (FPF) of over 50, homeowners with Hurd SPF windows won';t see sun damage to typical household furnishings for 15 years or more. Comparatively, windows with the most commonly used Low-E glass products score an average FPF of 7. At that level, fading damage is noticeable in three years or less. Standard clear glass windows have an FPF rating of just 2 with fade damage occurring in less than one year.
The addition of ClimaGuard SPF to Hurd';s glass coating line is significant. "Hurd now has the most complete glass option offerings on the market," said Herman.
