Specialty Wood Windows

Awning, Hopper, Slider, Bay Window

Architectural Traditions also offers several specialty windows, such as Awning, Hopper, Slider and Bay windows.

Wood Awning Winodw

Awning
A combination of a frame, one or more awning sashes, weatherstripping and an operating device assembled as a complete unit. This window opens at the bottom, allowing for ventilation in mildly rainy weather; it may contain one or more fixed or non-operative sashes in combination with the operative sash. Operating hardware - crank. Sash lock with mortise strike. Screen - aluminum screen with charcoal gray fiberglass mesh. Maximum width - 5'. Most of the Traditional or Homestead window options are available.

Hoppers
Similar to a pivot window, but with the pivot points located near the bottom of the sash. This allows warmer air near the ceiling to escape, brings in fresh replacement air at the sides, helps to minimize drafts at sill levels, and provides easy cleaning access to interior and exterior surfaces. Hardware - latch and strike plate with butt hinges. Screens - fixed wood screens with charcoal gray fiberglass mesh.

Slider
Available in two-sash, three-sash and four-sash configuration. Hardware - 3" slide bolt. Screen - fixed wood screen with charcoal gray fiberglass mesh comes standard.

Bay Window
A bay window is made up of three or more windows. The side or flanker units project out from the building in 30-, 45- or 90-degree angles. The center is parallel with the building's wall and is made up of one or more windows. All the units can be configured as stationary, operating, or any combination thereof.
